In this collection of paintings I have attempted to present local rural views through a deep and confused curtain of foliage. When standing in a landscape we tend to stare into the distance uninterested and unaware of the immediate foreground. However when you take a good look at what’s right under your nose you may discover more than you imagined. I really enjoyed creating the depth and space in these images, most of the plants are strange versions of real foliage. There’s a lot of artistic licence in these works. Can you see the Pookas? Here are a few images of recent work.
